Join the Best Ferry Team in the World

Nomadic doesn't maintain a pilot database. We build a team. Every PIC is personally evaluated by the Managing Partners and standardized to our OMD operating procedures.

This Is Not a Normal Flying Job

Airline flying is the same route, the same aircraft, the same regulatory environment, day after day. Nomadic flying is different every week. One week you might be taking a freshly converted A321PCF out of Guangzhou. The next, crossing the Pacific in a 767 for AerCap. The week after that, repositioning a 777 from the Maldives to Toulouse for a lease return.

You will operate in airspaces and regulatory environments that most airline pilots never encounter. You will fly aircraft owned by the largest lessors in the world, on schedules that do not wait for convenient timing. You will represent Nomadic's 25-year reputation on every single flight.

In return, you will fly remarkable aircraft to remarkable places with the best-supported, best-planned ferry operation in the industry behind you. Bob Allen and Steve Giordano built this organization around the crews who fly for it. That has not changed.

What We Require

Minimum Qualifications

  • ATP Certificate

FAA or EASA. ICAO equivalent reviewed case by case.

  • Type Rating — Heavy Jet

B767, B777, A320 family, or B787 preferred. Multiple ratings advantageous.

  • International Experience

North Atlantic, Pacific, or trans-oceanic operations. Comfort in unfamiliar airspaces.

  • Valid Passport & Medical

Unrestricted travel capability. Class 1 medical or equivalent required.

What We Are Looking For

Beyond the certifications, Nomadic pilots share certain characteristics. They are organized, professional, and adaptable. They are as comfortable operating in Guangzhou or Maldives or Lagos as they are at their home base. They hold themselves to airline standards in single-pilot or two-pilot operations with no dispatcher standing behind them.

They understand that ferry flying is not glamorous sightseeing — it is a professional service to clients who depend on their aircraft being delivered precisely on schedule. They understand that the Nomadic reputation on every trip is partly theirs to protect.

If that describes how you approach flying, we would like to talk to you.

Why Fly for Nomadic

Hand-Picked by the Partners

Every Nomadic PIC is personally evaluated by Bob Allen and Steve Giordano. This is not a contractor database. If you fly for Nomadic, you were deliberately chosen by the two people who have been doing this longer than almost anyone in the world. That means something.

The Best-Supported Ferry Operation in the Industry

Nomadic's in-house planning team has cleared permits through China, India, Pakistan, West Africa, and dozens of other complex jurisdictions thousands of times. You are not out there solving problems alone. You have institutional knowledge and operational support behind every flight.

Fly the World's Highest-Value Aircraft

AerCap, GECAS, Air Lease, BOC Aviation, Avolon — these are Nomadic's clients. You are flying aircraft that those organizations depend on to close deals worth hundreds of millions of dollars. The work is consequential and the aircraft are exceptional.

A Real Company, Not a Gig Platform

Nomadic has been operating continuously since 1999. They have EASA NCC certification in Luxembourg, a formal Safety Management System, full-time operations staff on three continents, and a 25-year track record with the top names in aviation finance. This is not a side hustle.

How to Apply

Nomadic does not use a formal application portal. The right way to apply is to contact us directly — by email or phone — and introduce yourself. Tell us what type ratings you hold, your total time and PIC time, your international experience, and why you want to fly for Nomadic specifically.

If there is a fit, you will hear from Bob or Steve directly. The evaluation process is thorough — standardization to Nomadic OMD procedures is required before any PIC assignment.

Nomadic operates as a contractor model. Frequency of assignments varies by type rating, availability, and operational demand. Many Nomadic pilots maintain airline or other professional flying positions concurrently.
